What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based psychological treatment.

It is a specific psychotherapeutic model, which helps us to address our emotional difficulties, and improve the way we think and feel, and in turn improve our relationship with ourselves and others. CBT focuses on the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are troublesome or unhelpful, as these often undermine our self confidence and can trigger depression or anxiety. CBT looks at how problems are developed are maintained in the “here and now”. It can help you to learn new methods of coping and problem solving which can be used for the rest of your life. It can be seen as an investment in your future happiness and stability, and can help to maintain more stable relationships.
